Concept development of a postapocalyptic universe where the planet surface has turned inhabitable. Pollution surpassed tolerable limits, and a new kind of lifeforms appeared in the world: the dust beasts.
The last human clusters have adapted the previous structures of their ancestors, turning bunkers, ancient subway stations and other underground buildings in the last civilisations.
But everything changes when Manolita, an 11 year old girl, discovers that the dust beasts aren't evil creatures. She will learn about this new world, and make many humans and bestial friends in her adventure.
Manolita and the chosen kids
After many centuries living this way, pollution has infiltrated in the buildings where people live. Even the strict security measures have a small percentage of infiltration that has been accumulated during the years. This has generated an anomaly: in this generation, there are a few children that can live in the outside environment without falling ill. This kids have almost the same age, and they also have a particularity: they can talk with the dust beasts.
Manolita's adventure
Manolita is the main character of this history. She has grown with very little information about the outside world. After having a vision, she decides to escape and discover whats really outside by herself. These are some sketches of her adventure, from the first contact with a dust beast to her arrival to the Royal Palace.
The dust beasts
This new lifeforms appeared when most of the living beings had become extinct. The human kind watch this beasts made of pollution as a threat, but they are their salvation.
The dust beasts are born from the poisonous particles that float in the air. The particles tend to concentrate around dust rings, which works as nurseries for this species.
Unlike most of the species, they are born in their maximum size. At this state, people calls them giants. During their lives, they purify the dust and converts it in sand, becoming smaller and smaller until their last day.
This is what humankind doesn't know, that the beasts existence purifies the earth.
There are also different tribes and cultures inside the dust beasts community.
